UTA does not own or keep the intellectual property of the solutions, members or partners it showcases. The intellectual property of each solution remains with the innovator that developed it and released it under the pilot. The pilot partners agree the ownership of pilot data and of any jointly created results at the start of each pilot.
UTA’s role is to showcase the solutions, members and partners involved, and to share the reusable, non-proprietary learning from each pilot with its network, such as performance KPIs, reference architectures, lessons learned and best practices. As a neutral, non-profit intermediary, UTA has no commercial interest in the outcome.
Partners run pilots that involve personal data in line with applicable privacy rules, as in the privacy-compliant edge AI pilot in New York City. The agreement for each pilot always sets out the specific data-handling and IP terms.
