About

Worldline is a European payments and digital services company whose platforms extend into IoT and connected services. Its Senior Care platform lets tele-assistance providers digitalise their services, monitoring the well-being of older people at home through household sensors instead of waiting for a call for help.

Presentation

Founded in 1972 and headquartered in La Défense, France, Worldline is one of Europe’s largest payment processors, operating across merchant services, financial services, and mobility and e-transactional services. The group employs around 18,000 people and reported revenue of €4.6 billion in 2024, with operations across Western and Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, Japan and Australia.

Worldline Iberia SA is the group’s Spanish entity. It coordinated M-Sec, the EU–Japan project on multi-layered security for hyper-connected smart cities, and proposed and built the Senior Care platform used in the Santander pilot on secure home monitoring for ageing residents.

Vision & Mission

Worldline works to make digital transactions and connected services trustworthy by design. Applied to urban and care settings, this means treating access control, data integrity and the rights of data subjects as the conditions for adoption rather than as features added after deployment.

Solutions, Products and Services

Merchant payment acceptance and processing; financial services and issuing; mobility and e-transactional web services; and IoT and connected-service platforms, including the Senior Care tele-assistance platform for sensor-based well-being monitoring of older people at home.
