CIVITAS Forum 2026

Organised by the CIVITAS Initiative — the European Commission’s flagship network for clean and sustainable urban mobility — the CIVITAS Forum is the leading annual gathering for cities advancing sustainable transport. The 2026 edition runs under the theme “Roots & Routes: Moving Forward to Competitive, Connected and Resilient Urban Mobility.” It brings together city representatives, policymakers, practitioners, planners, academics and mobility enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond to exchange solutions across three pillars: competitive mobility (public transport innovation, financing, sustainable tourism mobility), connected mobility (shared/micromobility, automated and data-driven systems, urban freight), and resilient mobility (accessible transit, active travel, last-mile logistics, energy transitions and Vision Zero safety). Host city Thessaloniki — Greece’s second-largest city and a Southeast European transport hub — was selected for its ambitious Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
