Inovallée is the Grenoble Alpes technology park for software and smart technologies. For more than 50 years, it has helped start-ups, SMEs, mid-sized companies and international groups set up, innovate and grow, and it now brings together more than 350 businesses and 11,800 jobs. Inovallée led the MyIno App pilot under the EU–Japan BigClouT project.
Inovallée is a technology park on the north-eastern edge of Grenoble, covering Meylan and Montbonnot-Saint-Martin. It opened in 1972 as ZIRST, one of France’s first technology parks, and took the name Inovallée in 2005. The park brings together universities, research laboratories, companies and local authorities at the heart of Grenoble Alpes, European Capital of Innovation 2026.
More than 350 businesses — historic SMEs, international leaders, start-ups and scale-ups — work in the park across software, AI, IoT, electronics, engineering and medtech. Together they account for 11,800 jobs and around €6 billion in turnover, with annual growth of about 11 per cent. Inovallée has incubated some 160 start-ups.
In the BigClouT project, Inovallée hosted and led the Grenoble technology park pilot. It designed the back-end architecture of the MyIno App, managed the project and has continued to operate and extend the app since the project closed.
Inovallée works under the motto ‘Tech – Human – Engaged’.
Tech: a technology ecosystem where companies grow alongside hundreds of tech firms and world-class research centres.
Human: a network that creates opportunities through qualified introductions, shared experience, business partnerships and cooperation.
Engaged: a territory committed to companies’ success and to the well-being of the people who work in them.
Its aim is to act every day as a development accelerator for companies and their teams, using technology for humans: automating routine tasks so its team can focus on guidance and community building, and giving the people who work in the park easy access to the information and services they need.
Incubation and acceleration: the Tarmac start-up incubator and the GATE acceleration programmes.
Setting up and growing: support with location, business development, financing and partners.
Talent: recruitment, training, employer branding, an HR club and quality of working life.
Shared services: a purchasing centre, security, mobility, catering, sport and employee services.
Network: eight business clubs, around 150 events a year and a community of 400 business leaders.
MyIno App: a web and mobile app that brings real-time transport, restaurant menus, news, events, a company directory and an interactive map together for park users.
