About the EIC Accelerator

The European Innovation Council runs the EIC Accelerator under Horizon Europe. It backs companies with high-risk, high-impact technologies. Furthermore, it offers coaching and access to investors alongside the funding. As a result, it is one of Europe’s most important instruments for deep-tech scale-ups, including smart-city and urban-tech companies. Why the EIC Accelerator Matters

For innovators, the EIC Accelerator opportunity can unlock funding, partners and first customers at the same time. In addition, it gives companies visibility with cities and investors across Europe. Successful projects often become references that open new markets. However, competition is strong, so a clear impact story matters. That is why UTA connects innovators with cities and research partners well before deadlines. Moreover, our network helps teams test their ideas against real urban challenges. As a result, members can build stronger proposals and turn funding into lasting growth.

Deadline and How to Apply

Short proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. The next full-proposal cut-off is 4 November 2026. The EIC will confirm its 2027 cut-off dates in the next work programme.
