The 36th IraSME call for proposals for transnational R&D projects is open from 2 June 2025 until 24th September 2025. The call is organised and funded by national and regional ministries and agencies participating in the IraSME network through their respective funding programmes.

General information:

When applying for IraSME calls for proposals, please note that applicants are strictly advised to consult with their local agencies at an early stage during the preparation of their proposals in order to secure compliance with the applicable national and regional criteria. Eligibility rules, application and funding details vary between countries/regions.

What we fund:

  • Development of new products, processes or technical services which exceed the current international state of the art.
  • Technical/experimental development up to a prototype level.
  • R&D with significant technical risks for each funded partner.
  • Minimum constellation: 2 companies from 2 participating countries/regions (pls see Austria and Switzerland for exceptions!).

Current IraSME call information

IraSME SME R&D proposals are invited through the 36th IraSME call for transnational R&D projects, open to companies from participating countries. Furthermore, IraSME supports the development of new products, processes, and technical services that exceed the current international state of the art. Therefore, SMEs must form consortia with at least two companies from two different participating countries. In addition, applicants must consult their local agencies early to ensure compliance with national eligibility rules.

What Are IraSME SME R&D Proposals?

IraSME SME R&D proposals fund experimental development up to prototype level with significant technical risks for each funded partner. Moreover, the network connects national and regional ministries and agencies across Europe and beyond to jointly fund cross-border SME projects. Consequently, successful applicants develop innovative solutions while leveraging international collaboration and co-funding. As a result, SMEs gain access to diverse technical expertise, new markets, and international partnerships through the IraSME network.

The 36th IraSME call is organised and funded by participating national and regional agencies through their respective funding programmes. Countries participating in this call include Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Flanders, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Türkiye, and Wallonia. Also, funding rules, eligibility criteria, and application details vary between countries and regions. However, all applicants must secure bilateral agreements and consult their local agency during the preparation phase.

Who Can Apply?

SMEs and companies from participating IraSME countries are eligible to apply. Moreover, consortia must include a minimum of two companies from two different participating countries or regions. Teams must focus on R&D with significant technical risks and target development up to the prototype level.
